Die Handmaid goes multilingual!

Standard

Blogposts by die Handmaid now available in English! …sort of
*yay*!

Dearest readers!

Browsing the web, looking for new ideas for my medieval reenactment or -let’s be honest here- for the sole purpose of drooling at other peoples awesome handcrafts, I sometimes found myself a bit clueless because the websites in question showed wonderful pictures of wonderful garments, equipments and whatchamacallits, but I failed to understand what exactly was shown or how it was made, because the site was in polish, swedish or any other beautiful yet for me foreign language.

At this point I started thinking about my own little space here and to my shame I had to admit, that all my articles were only in German.

But no more! *raises tiny little fist*

From now on, new acticles will be postet in both German and English (in italics, maybe some scrolling will be required)
My old articles will get their english bits one by one.

(or klick the tag „english“) in the tag-cloud on your right!)

I am new to the field of reenectment and historical garments in English, so I might use some technical terms a bit inconsistent in the beginning.
Any hints on (subject-related) vocabular is highly appreciated!

Enjoy!

Porridge des Tages: Schoko-Lebkuchen Granatapfel

Standard

This porridge is made for comfy sundays in advent:
Add some gingerbread-spices to the milk before heating (I used a ready-bought mix made from cinnamon, dried orange peels, coriander, dried lemon peels, anis, fennel, nutmeg blossom, nutmeg, clove und cardamom).
Stir some bits of dark chocolate in the porridge before adding the toppings.
Toppings are pomegranate, almonds and more chocolate bits

Porridge des Tages: Cranberries und dunkle Schokolade

Standard

Fresh cranberries and bits of dark chocolate. They go very well together even though I could have used a bit less chocolate actually (did I say that out loud??)
Tipp: stir some chocolate bits in the warm porridge and sprinkle the rest on top.
